Mixed-Use central city apartments and retail - work in progress.

The client’s vision was to provide a high-quality mixed use development that connects with its context and positively adds to the urban fabric of a ‘new’ Christchurch. As such, the design team were challenged to develop a concept equal to the site’s unique setting.

The building’s distinctive façade has taken design cues from the Avon’s watercourse and Poplar lined banks. Linking the building to its local context, floor-to-ceiling glazing strengthens this connection by providing occupants with unrestricted views out to the River and its embankments. A podium level offers an shared outdoor landscaped area to enhance a sense of community for the people living in the apartments.
